The Archive feature in Diri is a soft-delete function. Its purpose is to let you remove items from your active view without permanently deleting them. This helps keep your workspace organized while still allowing you to recover data later if needed.
When you archive an item, it is hidden from the standard lists and dashboards, but it is not erased from the system. Archived items remain stored in the database and can be restored at any time. This ensures important information is never lost by mistake, while still keeping your active environment clean and focused.
Soft delete (archive): The item is hidden from your active lists, but it’s not gone. You can bring it back later if needed.
Hard delete (permanent): The item is completely removed and cannot be recovered.
Think of it like email: archiving hides the message, deleting empties the trash.
Soft-deleting will put items in the archive, which is available under the “Manage” section in Diri. Opening the archive will show every soft deleted Item in Diri and if it is scheduled for deletion. The buttons for restore and permanent deletion per item are highligthed in the illustration below. Single items can be individually restored, while a restoration of a risk assessment or an organization will restore all objects associated with it.
